Hello! Just had a bit of bad luck upgrading my GPU, where something fell into the case and bumped the mobo. Now, the power button will get all the fans and hard drives running, but pressing it again won't turn off the machine, and no display will come up. Also, there are no beeps, even when there's no RAM in the machine. I've tried resetting the CMOS, taking everything minus the CPU/CPU fan out, reseating every component (CPU/GPU/RAM), and rewiring everything. I'm really hoping my motherboard isn't shorted out indefinitely, but any thoughts as to what might be happening?

And just noticed there's a burning smell coming from my GPU now when the board is on. Which is never a good sign.

Solution
Hi, If no beeps when only CPU and CPU fan connected (and a case speaker attached to the motherboard), then it looks like a motherboard issue.

Was hoping that wasn't the issue, but oh well. Thank you for your answer!
