Help

I was installing Win 8 from a flash drive .The Initial Installation went fine but when the windows needs to restart to continue installation the windows boot manager shows up. Since it only has the options "Earlier version of windows" and "Windows 7" selecting either one of them results in failure of win 8 installation.
I'm now back on Win 7.What necessary actions needs to be taken to make sure the windows boot manager doesn't interfere with the installation?

Solution
Is there another hard disk in the system? If another Boot Configuration Database (BCD) is detected, Windows Setup will automatically attempt to install a compatible entry and BCD to the System Reserved Partition on which that BCD is stored. The best solution if you have more than one hard disk would be to remove all disks except the one to which you intend to install Windows 8, install the operating system, then reinsert the additional disk and confirm that the system firmware (BIOS/UEFI) is configured to boot the Windows 8 disk first. If you wish to continue booting to Windows 7 on the second drive, you can add an entry for that operating system to the new Windows 8 BCD using BCDBoot, which is outlined here on TechNet.

Uh go under drives means which option exactly?

In advanced options there's troubleshoot and turn off your pc.

In troubleshoot there's Reset your pc, refresh and advanced option.

And in Advanced options(im guessing this is the one)
System Restore
System Image Recovery
Automatic Repair
Command Prompt

He means when you get to the 'Where do you want to Install Windows ' Screen during installation, use 'Drive Options(Advanced)' to delete all partitions on target drive... Windows won't create the 350MbSystem Reserved partition on a partitioned drive...
