Cant change my Bios setting for boot

i have intel board e5700. i know its quite old but i have some prb while i m going to arrange my boot order. i cant even my time from bios. well setting of time is not a big issue, main is to fix boot prb. i really need to install windows as soon as possible. kindly provide best solution to get escape that issue

if the cmos battery is dead your setting wont save. on some older pc motherboard at power up they can have an f key to pick the boot device you want.

may be u not get my point. my problem is not to saving setting, its an after fixing my issue. my main issue is that i cant select my boot options for changing boot settings. everything is freeze in boot menu.

if everything locking up in the bios. check that the cpu fans and working and not over heating.check that your ram is seated, have you tried clearing your cmos to see if it a mb glitch. try booting with one dimm to see if one went bad??
