I would like to upgrade the graphics card in my ancient dell dimension 9150. I have already read a number of articles on this site which are relevant but just about all the cards recommended seem to be no longer available as new so I would be grateful for some suggestions on cards to consider that I can purchase new and which will not require any other upgrade such as a replacement PSU. I have filled in the template and hope that will provide enough info for some advice.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE:4q 2013 BUDGET RANGE: £50-75

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:The main reason for wanting an upgrade is to get better performance from Trainz which was pretty awful when I was running XP and has got worse since I upgraded to Windows 7

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Nvidia geforce 7900 Gs

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Pentium D 2.8
4Mb memory
Windows 7 Professional
Dell 1907FP Display

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: ebuyer amazon

PARTS PREFERENCES:no preference

OVERCLOCKING: no OR CROSSFIRE: no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024,

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: none

Thanks in advance

I realise that my question lies very firmly at the trailing edge of technology so I have continued my researches and identified 3 cards which seem as though they would work in my configuration based on replies that I have seen to other questions. They are
1) Sapphire AMD HD6570 2GB DDR3 Lite Retail PCI-E Graphics Card http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-HD6570-Retail-PCI-E-Graphics/dp/B004WYV8SI/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1381413780&sr=1-1&keywords=radeon+5670#productDetails
2) Asus Nvidia GeForce GT 630 Graphics Card (2GB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, HDMI, DVI-I, VGA, Nvidia 3D Vision, Dust-Proof Fan, Super Alloy Power) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nvidia-GeForce-Graphics-Express-Dust-Proof/dp/B0084LE1XY/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1381414528&sr=1-2&keywords=graphics+cards
3) Asus AMD Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card (1GB, PCI-Express, GDDR5, Dust-proof Fan) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radeon-Graphics-PCI-Express-GDDR5-Dust-proof/dp/B004XANO24/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1381414627&sr=1-4&keywords=graphics+cards#productDetails

I would really appreciate any advice to warn me if any of these cards will not work in my set-up together with advice on which should give the best results when running Trainz. One concern that I do have about the Sapphire card is that it is PCI-E 2.1 and I did see a comment made back in 2010 that this might cause problems on a 9150. Is that still something to beware of?

Thanks in advance
