Hello everyone, I am new in this forum :)

I recently ordered ASUS ROG MATRIX 7970 for campaign price that is 299€ and I am expecting the card arrive at friday.

However, I am just curious to see what's the performance and utility/features different between these cards. The biggest PC store in finland already listed some of these new cards but they are all unconfirmed when they will arrive:

ASUS AMD Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II is 299€
ASUS AMD Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP is 309€
Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280X OC is 289€

I could not really find tests between those cards, only factory models and they were pretty equal compared to the card I recently ordered.

After all when I get this card, I will probably even more overclock to gain little bit more performance, because MATRIX model power supply is really good according to tests etc..

So, did I have a good deal, or was I just too hasty with new graphic card? :??:

The 280X is basically just a rebranded and slightly overclocked 7970 Ghz, you will get very similar performance with your ASUS Matrix card.

I assume that 290X is a typo, otherwise thats some very interesting pricing they have over there

The ROG Matrix runs at 1100MHz, the DCU2 (which Asus has 2 versions already) runs at 1070MHz. The ROG Matrix is better and since they are the same GPU, the extra 30MHz is better to have.
