Hey,

My dads laptop had a virus, we installed a new fresh version of windows 7, now that is done I quickly realise that I can't access the internet due to there being no drivers installed. The wireless drivers and every other internet driver is not installed.

Im basically stumped and don't know what to do.

I don't even know what drivers to download (on to my pc and transfer them over via USB stick) because I don't know what networking card the laptop has.

Any suggestions or solutions are greatly needed. Thanks in advance great people of TH!!!!

You already have the answer, download the drivers for that particular laptop on another PC and transfer them to the laptop. If you don't know which ones to download, don't worry, get them all and install them all (even for the same model, manufacturers will have several drivers on their website for certain hardware). A system will only use the drivers that apply to it's particular configuration, but it will NOT be impeded in any way by the additional drivers.
Once you have installed the networking drivers and you have internet access, you can also let Win7 get the drivers online for the remainder of the hardware. Or, you can just do the same as before.

You need to get your model number, go to the website of the computer's manufacturer and download drivers from them. Use a working computer and download them onto a USB/SDcard.

house70, I found where I can download the drivers for my HP laptop but when does it prompt me to save them to the disk instead of on my husband's laptop which is not an HP? I just don't want to mess up my husband's computer.

Just create a folder for all the drivers on any machine you want; it won't mess it up (unless they have a shoddy source, in which case you could end up with a virus). If they come from HP, I would not worry about it, but if you want you can scan that folder before doing anything else with it.

I am having the same problem, installed windows 7 from the Windows 7 CD, now my Toshiba laptop has no drivers. I have downloaded the drivers onto USB and when I try to install them onto the laptop when they install it is trying to access the internet to install. How do you get around that when you dont have the internet?

Disconnected your laptop from the internet, download and copy the network drivers to a folder on a different computer, copy to usb drive, install on laptop, then plug the network cable back into the router for internet access on the laptop.

I have the same problem.
But how can you transfer them.. USB sticks and SD cards don't work, you can't make a lan-connection either.

USB drivers should be detected by the Windows OS and installed already, try to use a thumb drive on the laptop to test before the copy process.

I am not able to install via USB also as the drivers are missing and windows 7-64 bit Ultimate, which I installed, is not installing the usb drivers.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have a question:
Similar problem - I have freshly installed Windows 7 on Zenbook UX31E and lost all my drivers. ALL = wireless but also USB drivers (and my RJ45 is connected via USB adapter)
I am desperate to find out how to bring new drivers to my notebook as it does not read any external source.

Save me, pls
