How to I find and format my USB device when no drive letter is allocated. My USB makes a sound as if it is recognised when it is plugged in but does not show up as a drive. I've tried using the command line with diskpart, I've also tried Bootice, SDformatter and and all the windows tools I could find. (this includes going to computer management-storage)
The device DOES show up in the device manager but has very few details about what it is apart from a usb device. I've tried all the windows update tools.
Perhaps the device is beyond repair but I'd don't want to give up when the answer is possibly quite simple.
The only other detail I could add is that the problem first occurred when the device was plugged into a computer running the Ubuntu operation system.
Thanks
