I not looking for overclock and i'm not a gamer

I spend lots of my times working in Avid Pro Tools HD and Ableton Live

btw sorry for poor english ..

have wonderful day

Solution
If you're looking for price/performance...the AMD FX 8350 will run heavily threaded audio encoding programs like the i7, for less money than the i5's.

Its based around much.

Can the program itself handle/ is it able to use more than 4 threads?. (from the look of it does it look like a very high end program = Yes it is able to use all the I7 threads.)

When you say "Use" do you mean by using the onboard chipset audio (If so. Don't it is rubbish and will always be VS a dedicated sound card)

Heres is something to compare the two CPU's

My 2 cent. Sorry that i can'te be to more help. But i simply don't know enough about audio software or creating audio to give you the 100% correct anwser. But this threat might help: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/56023-35-digital-audio-work

thanks for ur fast replay Dragoic ,

actually I use Motu 8Pre sound interface (which has it's own processor).

my main use of cpu is for software itself and it's plug-ins and I also don't need a 12 core (or more) processor . I was happy with my old intel q9650 until my 775 mobo broke and I can't find a brand new LGA 775 mobo

and now I'm confused ! because Price / performance ratio of i5 s is a lot better compare to i7 s

Processor Number i5-4670K
Cores 4
Threads 4
Clock Speed 3.4 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency 3.8 GHz

Processor Number i7-4770
Cores 4
Threads 8
Clock Speed 3.4 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency 3.9 GHz

Both have 4 cores. But it is the hyperthreading that makes the big difference. The I5 will be see as a quad core. While the I7 will be seen as a octo core. If the program is able to use it. Then it can throw that extra load onto the last 4 threads. Which can be felt when doing heavy converting ect.

But there is also the option to OC the I5 (Buy a K version). Since you say you already felt like the intel q9650 did well enough, and just save the moeny for something else (around 66 euro from I5 to I7)

Just to compare:

Intel Core2 Quad vs I5: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core2-Quad-Q9650-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4670 (Be aware that the homepage only says the I5 only got 1MB L2 cache. It really got 6MB)
Intel Core2 Quad vs I7: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core2-Quad-Q9650-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4770 (Same counts for the I7. It got 8MB L2)

^^^^^
Correct and very good suggestion.

As 8350rocks said. If the program is able to use all 8 cores from the 8330/8350 would it be able to deliver one hell of a punch at a very low price.

thanks a lot u guyz ;) very much appreciated!

since Pro Tools and Ableton Live are not single threaded programs I think AMD FX 8350 is a much better choice for me than Intel core ix s (because of Price / performance ratio)

have a wonderful day
