is 1600mhz ram supported by 1333mhz motherboard

my laptop is HP PAVELION DV6-6154TX can i use 1600mhz/PC-3 12800 RAM

    i didnt look up the model or how many ram slots you have or anything in particular to you...

    but yes, 1600mhz ram works on a 1333mhz motherboard.
    it will just downclock the ram to 1333.

    you could put in 2133, and it'd downclock to 1333
