Can i use more ram than my motherboard can handle (4GB)

My motherboard is https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KPL/#specifications
I am using atm 4gb 800mhz ram.
Friend gave me 2 gb 800mhz trascend memory.
My qustion is can i somehow use all 6gb ram. When i insert 6gb, pc runing, but black screen.

i am useing 64bit windows 7 ultimate.
