I'm buying a new power supply tonight and I'm pretty heart set on the Antec HCG 750w fully modular. First off its about $120 and I know its a quality PSU, any one have any other thoughts? It needs to be modular and at least 750w.
The Antec HCG-750M is not fully modular. It is a semi-modular PSU. The 20+4 pin ATX and 4+4 pin CPU cables are still hardwired to the PSU's circuit board.
This PSU is based on the Seasonic M12 II Bronze 750W (SS-750AM) platform.
There is a draw back with this PSU and it's with its holdup time. It is a couple of milliseconds shorter than what is allowed by the ATX12V spec. This becomes a problem if you have this PSU connected to a UPS. When the holdup time is too short there may not be enough time available for the UPS to switch over to battery backup mode.
I was looking at that xfx pro series i heard it was awesome but I was reading through the reviews and a ton said it was shipped missing cables and that the customer service was terrible

Semi modular would still be fine, I'm using it for gaming probably sli 760s, what would you recommend I know there's an older model and the newer one with that led fan labeled "Wattage" M
