I'm worried that with the new cards coming out that the HD 7950 will maybe be discontinued by the time Christmas comes. The 7950 is the same price as the R9 270x, which is basically a 7870GE. Or would it just be better to get a GTX 760?
I'm guessing some of the rebates and things will go away, but the prices should also go down to match the current rebate levels when the new cards come out. If it's anything like GTX 6xx availability is after the 7xx line came out, you'll be just fine.
Looking at how many are currently in retail it is very likely that will not be sold out before Christmas. Lets see what happens with prices when the new cards actually come in retail.
depends on nvidia pricing of there gpu and if they come out with any new gpu.
on amd there only three 7900 cards. the r7 280x is the replacement for 7870 cards.
R9 280X is rebranded HD7970GHz edition the R9 270X HD7870.
Yeah. Right now the 7950 is going for about 190-200 dollars and the R9 270x will come to the market at 200 dollars according to AMD so I don't want to get stuck with basically a 7870 for the same price I could have gotten a 7950 for.
