How should I go about putting the power switch in?

What should I try to get the graphics to display?

Specs:
PSU: 550W
SSD: 128GB
HDD: 500GB
RAM: 8GB 1333mhz
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.40 Ghz 8MB Cache Quad-core Processor - Black Edition
MOBO: Asus M5A 78L-M USB3
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit

I've just upgraded my motherboard, I really don't know what my previous board was because it was a stock board, anyway i've wanted to change from my intel dual core to a AMD quad core, but here is my problems so far, i notice that the switch to power on the machine is all in one. I found a way to power up the machine, but then i got no display.

Instead of looking like this for example

Here are the instructions in the motherboards manual

I located the part of the motherboard like so

Then put it in place

however after making sure everything is plugged in and turned on i got no life out of the machine.

Then I was just playing about to see if i could get it to work, and i tried plugging in the front panel usb/sound cable this one

And it didn't exactly have an on/off switch however it powered up the machine.

Here is how my old motherboard was connected up with the front panel/on and off switch.

before it was plugged in

And here is when it was plugged in

So anyway i went ahead and put my graphics card in and it all powered up but then the screen didn't show any picture.

So my problem is, what do i have to do, to get the power switch to work, and what should i try to get my screen to show?

Any help would be great! please and thank you :)
