Hello there, Im currently debating on upgrading my gaming rig

This is what I want to get:

Maximus VI formula Z87 1150 chipset
Intel i5 4670k
I already have the GTX 660 Ti
and 2 Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3

Questions:
1. What do you guys think of this mobo/cpu combo
2. Do I need a CPU cooler if I want to overclock?
3. What PSU is recommended for this? I have a 500w cooler master PSU

Thanks in advice

This is what I would use.

The motherboard you have on there seems...

That is a great mobo/CPU combo, but you should consider what you are getting it for. As much as I love Asus, I don't usually see a point in buying their premium boards unless you really need those features (aka doing a big SLI config).

In short, yes they are good products, just don't spend more than you have to unless this is part of a larger upgrade.

The motherboard you have on there seems unreasonable for an i5 build, so I downgraded the motherboard and upgraded the CPU. This will give you a lot better performance.

I also gave you a reliable PSU.
