What are some good flight simulator games for PC?

What are some good and new flight sim games? I would like just regular flight sims and also combat flight games. I think games like that are pretty fun, and all i can find are old and outdated games. I want a one with good graphics, thus a newer one. Any help? Thanks!

I've been looking into getting into Flight Sims again. It appears that the genre is more of a niche thing so you won't find a lot of new software out there. Flight Simulator X is the most highly recommended one with Xplane 10 a close second. The good thing is that there are plenty of enthusiasts out there still who are still developing, so even though the platforms may be older the games are still quite useful and you can add planes, scenery, etc. quite easily. Don't fool with the new MS Flight, though, it is a dead project where they tried to dumb things down and make it free but then have you purchase everything separately.

For combat, I believe IL-2 is the most popular.

DCS series is a hardcore combat flight sim series, with games for the A10 and Ka50, as well as 3rd party addons and DCS world to bring it together.
