So I am having some second thoughts about my plan on buying http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
I have recently been seeing people talking about how 27" monitor doesn't work well at 1080p and they are saying that it looks better at 24".
Currently, I am using a 32" at a low resolution of 1360x768 and have absolutely no problem with it for I mostly have gotten use to it. (Though I want an upgrade on my monitor for my new rig)

I want a 1080p because my sisters monitor is one and it seems like it has more space to it.
I didn't really want to go 1440p because it would require more of my GPU. I'm content at 1080p.

People say that 27" looks weird or doesn't fill the space enough on 1080p to the point that it doesn't look sharp and that 24" below are better at 1080p / 27"+ at 1440p+.
Any confirmations or opinions?

Others also says that at a farther distance, you will hardly notice the difference or even not at all on 27" @1080p.
They say that 4-5 feet away from the monitor and it should be fine.

Right now, I sit about 3-3 1/2 feet away from my 32" monitor. When I buy the 27" 144hz 1080p monitor (See the link above) I can and will put it a little back further and should be around 4-5 feet away from me for I have a 2 desk. (1 for mouse/keyboard/personal stuff and another desk for just the monitor itself)

So, what is it really?
Right now I feel like I have to go for the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... but I really want a 27" without having any issues.

I just need a good opinion/input to strengthen my original plan on going for the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Also, I am going to purchase 2 monitor of the same size/pixel (Because OCD for the lol) but at a normal refresh rate (60hz).

Also, any other recommendations aside from the Asus monitors?

Sorry if the thread is too long and thank you for reading!

I have an Asus VE278Q and have no complaints about it at 1080p. While I haven't compared it specifically to a 24" monitor, I have to say it's plenty clear for me.

There is one person in particular on this forum that has a grudge against 27" 1080p monitors. Most people who post have been quite happy with the step up in size. While 1440p is better at 27", 27" 1080p is better than 24" 1080p in most peoples opinion who I've seen post here.

I would not go down to 24" after using 27".

If you are in doubt, you should be able to view them at a local store to see if 27" seems too big to you.

I looked at a 27" 1080 ASUS at a local store and thought it looked great.

Thanks for the response so far guys!

While I would like to see the difference for myself, our local Walmart doesn't really have any 120hz-144hz~ monitor to showcase.
Best Buy's store moved to a lot smaller building and now carry a lot less items and also doesn't have the monitors to show.
Closest Fry's is about an hour and a half away from me.

Also, does anyone know if you see the monitor that I linked (Asus ones, both 24" and 27")gets darker if you're not exactly at the center front of the monitor?

You won't likely be able to see the benefits of 144hz or Lightboost at a local store, as Lightboost requires special hardware or a hack to get it working for non-3D and 144hz isn't that noticeable and not likely even setup at the desktop at the local store.

But you can see 27" 1080p pretty easily at a store.

Most people talking about viewing angles are talking about the wrong thing. They mostly are meaning color shift. The monitors don't really get all that dark from viewing from the side until you get way off center, but the colors shift a bit and do not look the same the further to the side you go.

If your going 27" you should go 1440p honestly have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vt0CJcUi4w

As you can see the monitor 1080p on the left everything looks bigger then the one on the right 1440p...If your ok with that then coo but just letting you know
