CPU Usage Randomly Drops to 0% and Stays There

Ok, I'll start with my hardware specs, then the problem:

AMD FX-6350
MSI 970a-G43 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 2*4GB
Asus AMD Radeon 6670
WD Caviar Black 500GB HDD
500W Coolermaster Powersupply
Windows 7 OS

So I'm just going about my computing, minding my own business, when my processor randomly decides that it's gonna stop doing it's chores like a good boy. The first time it happened was when I was playing Battlefield 3 and the game shut down, Google Chrome stopped responding, and I could not reload any program. So, I checked task manager and, low and behold, all 6 cores are at 0%. So, I thought it was an issue with the cooling. I opened up the case and slapped a big fan in front of it. The CPU temps stayed around 20 Degrees Celcius according to AMD Overdrive. No problemo there. It happened again while watching a Youtube video... Google Chrome shut down and I was unable to restart it, or any other program. 0% again, dead. The only way to fix the issue is to do a hard shut down and start it back up. I'm out of options and out of patience. Any suggestions?

20C doesn't sound right, especially after gaming, it should be hotter unless you have massive liquid cooling. 60-70 should be temps after gaming for a bit.

Try running Prime95 and see if the CPU usage drops to 0% when running it, also control temps while on it. Make sure to have no other programs open while testing like google chrome etc.

I wasn't gaming at the time of those temperatures. I only had Chrome open. Plus, the fan was bigger than the computer itself... so yeah. I'll test it again in Battlefield 3. As for running Prime95, how will I be able to test it when the CPU stops working? It'll just shut the program down...

The idea to test it with prime95 is to see if the problem reports a failure in P95...
