Are these memory kits the same?

Please click the links to see what memory I am talking about. I know that one 1866MHz(2X8GB) and the other is 1866MHz(4X4GB). I need new memory to replace the original bad memory. Essentially what I am asking is if the 2X8Gb would be good to put in a Z77 ASUS Sabretooth motherboard? Please help.

I would go the 4x4. But, Both will run on that board.

I would go for 2x8GB to leave the option open for 24-32GB later.

The QVL is by no means an exhaustive list of every possible memory configuration that can work. It is merely a list of configurations the DIMM or motherboard manufacturer has tested.

I have 4x8GB KHX1600C10 on my motherboard but it is not listed on my motherboard's QVL - at least not for quad-DIMM configurations. Still worked out fine: clean pass through 20h of memtest86 before I started using my PC again after adding the second pair just to make sure.

Go 2x8GB if mobo takes 8gb sticks, it's less stress on the MC (memory controller) and will run slightly faster, as far as QVLs, they are basically worthless, wrote this a couple years ago about them:
