Hey hey, this is my first build, shooting mainly for Rome Total War 2 to look pretty.

CPU - Intel i5-3570K 3.4Mhz
MoBo - ASUS LGA1155 P8Z77 -V
Memory - Corsair 8GB(2x4) DDR3 1600Mhz Vengeance
GPU - ASUS GeForce GTX 670 non-top
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM
Case - Coolermaster HAF 912 Combat Mid Tower
Optical Drive - Cheap $20 DVD-RW

That's everything I've got so far.
I only have a laypersons understanding of all the components, and little to no understanding of actual electronics so I'd love to know if I've drastically screwed up compatability, or gone way overboard on something.
Also I'm trying to figure out a PSU, from what I hear its best to not skimp on it, but also there is no advantage to having a higher wattage than you actually need...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I know I'm going to need some aftermarket cooling fans etc, I just have no idea what is good or works so any suggestions for those would be awesome as well. Cheers guys.

There is no advantage of having more than you need in the PSU this XFX 550watt will run the rig http://us.ncix.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&s...
But if you want more headroom here is a 650watt Corsair TX on a good deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Good budget air cooler CM hyper 212 EVO http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-r...

Cheers, in terms of budget, I'm in Australia so parts seem to be slightly pricier, at least because we can't use newegg. However I don't have a set budget, I'm hoping for roughly 1500 AUD for all the components... mouse, keyboard etc I am happy play around with what I can find later.

I've tried a calculator online and it said go for a 650W, so that corsair looks like it would suffice. The only other concern I'd have is are the internals of decent quality? Blowing a little more money on more W than I'd need is regrettable, but nothing compared to damaging the other components with a shoddy PSU...
