I am remodeling a portion of my house and have the walls and ceilings exposed and will be running CAT6. The goal is to try to future proof as much as possible. I plan to have 2 separate runs in smurf tube. Each run will be at the most 70 feet and have 5 cables in it. I was thinking on STP cable, but am I wasting money on it? Based on how my electrical is run, I might have some parallel runs within a foot of each other, which is part of the reason for the STP. We also have a cell tower that is about a quarter mile away from the house. Did not know if I was over thinking it.

I have been looking at various bulk CAT6 online. I found what seemed to be one that met all the specs (CAT6, STP, solid, CM rated, and 23 awg), however, I was concerned about the brand (vertical cable – see attached amazon.com link) as I could not find a lot of information on it. I want to do this right (less expensive to do correct once than have to redo down the road), however, I do not want to break the bank. Any recommendation on what CAT6 to buy and where to buy it? From some of the research I did, I am a bit fearful of the China stuff.

Also, are there any issues if I also put my rg6 quad shield coaxial cable in the same smurf tube? I did not think so, but wanted to get feedback.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This one in unshielded... is this one good?

I have never heard of a bad box of CAT3, 5, 5e, 6 or 6e, but it's been about 10 years since I was a cable tech. The tighter the wind, the less ingress and egress of signal that occur. Not a lot of people know this, but CAT3 is 3 winds per inch, CAT5 is 5 winds per inch, and so on. Typically you want to avoid running parallel with power or other cables but I don't think you'll have a problem at 70ft, you're well under maximum distance from a switch of around 300ft.
