Basically what the title says. I'm looking for the best pairing I can afford. I was looking at the Asus
VG248QE, but don't know exactly how viable and necessary it is. My monitor price range is probably around $300.

As for the GPU I'm kind of at a loss, waiting to see price drops in Nov and full detailed specs/ pricing on the new AMD GPUs. My price range for the GPU is around $700 and was possibly thinking of just getting two 7970 Ghz Vapor cards and crossfiring. But I'm looking for opinions as I read those are better for multi-monitor displays.

What I currently have that may be a factor is listed below.
Intel i7-4770k
Asus Maximus VI Formula
XFX 850w Pro Series - Seasonic

About GPU, yeah, it's worth to wait couple more weeks to see what AMD has up it's sleeves with 290x. "People" say it's going to "destroy" Titan, but if it won't, it should at least bring its price down - i hope ;)

About dual 7970, it's not that they are best for multi-monitors setups - they are most cost effective - and new 280x (old 7970) is now even cheaper ($299!) and as far as i know it is also capable of overclocking. But If i were you right now, i would not invest in current CF/SLI setups, buy strongest card within your price range and then in a year or so get another one. If you get 2 cards now it's not like you will get a 3rd down the line, you will replace them both and not really get the money worth because i don't see the market next year dropping some magical GPU that outperforms twice as much as the current top of the line GPU (Titan or 290x).
About monitor - I'm in the same boat, I'm thinking of replacing my 3x1080p 24' setup for 27' 1440p monitor but that's another story.

I'm not a Monitor expert, but i was reading a lot recently and Internet says that it is quite good monitor and the price is good too!

Now, the thing is, with this price limit you will get VERY good monitor, like the one above but "only" 1080p.
Problem is, that when you buy GPU that's about $700 it's an overkill for this resolution, it's just to much power for 1 monitor in 1080p. I don't know what to advise you, maybe buy cheaper GPU - gtx780 or R9 290 when all benchmarks and price adjustments are made? it really makes no sense to buy cheaper GPU when you can afford a possibly better one but having bigger monitor with bigger resolution does make the difference, at least i came to this conclusion recently.... ;)

I consider this "issue" being just like SSD... Regular mechanical HDD works good, but you know you could do better and faster... and that costs money :| I hope somebody more knowledgeable in this matter could help you...

The thing with the monitor is that it's the same sense as the gpu, I want to get a good monitor to eventually set up multiple. My desk is kind of limited at the moment, but eventually. As well as crossfire/sli. Get a good card and then use two when I need to.
