Hi, I have the Intel G860 cpu and wanted to get a new gpu and I want to go for the 7770HD OC or the 7790HD OC. My questions are:
1) Will the cpu bottleneck the 7790HD OC or won`t it be a problem?
2) I have 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHZ RAM in dual-channel running and I read the minimum requirements for this cards are 4GB. Will the gpu be bottlenecked with 4GB RAM while running a game and maybe a browser with few tabs?

Solution
Well, I think, the combination G860 and HD7790 is a bit limited for Crysis 3 and Watch Dog.
I would increase the GPU a bit, like HD7850 or HD7870 or ...if you can still afford it..
Add another 4GB RAM if you still have money.
If you have enough only for HD7790, then simply go for it.

About the new GPUs from AMD, I can not find it around me...if you can find them you might want also to consider them.
1. 4GB RAM is ok for most games although 8GB would be nicer. Do not worry so much.
2. HD7790 is ok for G860, most games depend more on GPU then processor.

BTW:
What are the games you play anyway?
What are the resolution and the game setting you are hoping to achieve?

that cpu should be fine for most games it a newer cpu. I look at the new r7 line of gpu some of them for the money are cheaper and faster then the older cards. the r7 280x that the replacment of the 7870 card is 199.00

it the same as the 7790 gpu core but it 10 cheaper then the older card.

Currently I play Rome 2 Total War and Guild Wars 2 and I am waiting for Watch Dogs and I played games like Crysis 3 and Hitman Absolution. Maybe 1600 x 900 or 1920 × 1080 depending on game with medium or high settings (max. 2 AA, AF), if possible and if the fps will be around 30.

Maybe I have only money for the 7790 OC version and for RAM if I sell my old GPU but prices could drop a bit more in few days. If I could get the money for RAM too I need to get 4GB more because if I get only 2GB I can´t use the RAM in dual-channel because it would be 2 x 3 sticks or am I wrong? The new r7 260x is an OC version of the 7790HD with newer technology and it has 2GB ram. The performance is a bit increased but the 2GB DDR5 would bottleneck the Intel G860 or?
