Hi,
Im thinking about upgrading my Gainward GeForce GTX 480 to something newer and better now that BF4 is on the doorsteps.

Rig:
Chieftec Super Series 750W
ASUS P7P55D-E PRO
Intel Core i5 Quad Processor

Thinking about;
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA
Gainward GeForce GTX 770 4GB PhysX CUDA

Solution

Okay, great!

Now, Looking at those specs, I would advise you not to get a 780. You probably will not fully utilise that GPU with that CPU.

Corsair Vengeance 8GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55D-E PRO (LGA1156)

I would suggest a 770, however, which is still a very powerful card and less money, and you will probably benefit more from this card. However, unless you are multi monitoring you dont need 4gb of VRAM. Just get a 2gb one. I would suggest an EVGA SC GTX 770 persaonlly. =)

Thanks for a great reply :)

Just out of curiosity, what cpu would you recommend to run the 780 ?

No problem at all, glad to help! =)

I would suggest something along the lines of an i5-3550 or i5-4570, both of which will be more than enough to handle the 780, and are also about double the performance of your current i5. Just Ctrl + F on this website those two CPU's to see what I mean:

Ill see what I'll end up with in the end then. But will be one of those two options.
1. EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA
"SC", EVGA ACX Cooler (02G-P4-2774-KR) - 540USD upgrade.

2. Intel Core i5-4570 Processor + EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA
"Superclocked", EVGA ACX Cooler (03G-P4-2784-KR) - 1100USD upgrade.

Secound upgrade is ofc more expencive, but will probably last longer then the first. Boils down to cash any way I spinn it, so we'll see in the end ;)

Thanks for all your help. Still got some days left to deside before BF4 releases. And at this point everything else runs smooth :):bounce:
