Hello, I just bought a new desktop a few months ago and I use it mainly for video editing but it also serves as my everyday internet source. I have been having problems with my CPU reaching 100% with just one program open and I paid way to much money for that to happen. I am not a techy person but here are the specs I could find.
(AMD A8-5500 APU w/ Radeon HD Graphics 3.19 GHz)
(8GB RAM)
(64bit Operating System)
Please help me solve this problem. I use programs such as Adobe After Effects and other, more minor editing programs daily and can't afford, or tolerate, any more "not responding" messages.

Solution
cpu when under load with the cpu fan working should not max out there temps. web and light work the temps should stay flat. under gaming load i can see the c;u temps max out. if the vendor uses standard intel cpu cooler i seen them be pop lose in shipping.
ryan have you opened the case to see if the cpu and gpu fan are moving??? if this is a pre built i be worried that the cpu fan was still on the cpu. a lot of times pc dont make it from point a to point b with all there parts in one piece. I tell people if they have a pc shipped to them before they power it on to open the case and check that the ram and cpu cooler still in one piece. i seen cpu coolers rip the cpu scoket off of mb before.

I bought the PC at Best Buy so is that a situation where the cpu fan would still be on the cpu? And if the fan was removed would it allow me to run more applications simultaneously or at least run one smoothly? Sorry for all the questions, haha, Like I said I am not very smart when it comes to technology.
