So I bought a TX650 recently (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) and it's got the 6+2 x2

i want to get a GTX 760 to go along with it. now, it says;

"One 8-pin PCI Express power connector or two available 6-pin PCI Express power connectors and one 6-pin PCI Express power connector or two available hard disk power connectors." (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)

uh.. am i reading it wrong or do i need either an 8 pin only, or 3 6 pins or hard disk connectors?

also; what is the difference between these EVGA cards?

Your psu is more than enough. You will use both 6+2 pins connectors, but one will not have it's 2 separate pins connected. And yeah, that newegg description is weird.

The difference between the two cards is the cooling solution (aka cooler), the pricier having better cooling.

well it can work with a 8 pin or 2 6 pin, as 1 8 pin powers about 150W and the card has a TDP of 170W (so it consumes about 170W) and it gets 20W from the PCIE slot.

it can also be used by 2 6 pins as 1 6 pin provides 75W so 2x6 = 2x75=150W and 20W from the PCIE slot. idk about hard disk connectors though.

im not actually sure about the theory but it seems like that to me. also if your gaming in 1080 res then you might wanna get the cheaper 2GB version as you wont use the extra 2GB on the 4GB card anyway.

I would get the 4 gb version. Games are now starting to use more and more vram and who knows in a few years what will come. Better safe than sorry.
