Well I frequently use Adobe programs such us premiere (video editing as a matter of fact haha) , dreamweaver, flash, after effects, photoshop and also do some 3d modelling with programs such as ogre 3d.....and I also play games frequently, such as metro last light and crysis 3. I obviously do more "intensive" things on my desktop, if for some reason you're interested I can give you the specs....but this year I'll be traveling a lot
Well, then if you have the money to spend, and really need the boost, then, I'd say, go for it. It will boost video editing, but don't expect that much performance increase in games.
to be honest the cost to upgrade will likely not bring the performance increase your paying for.. it would only be really worth it if the new cpu has 2 extra cores over what you already have. so im still skeptical...
you would likely gain maybe 5% over your current. but if you think its worth it...
