CPU= I7-4770K Overclocked at 4.3g with H100i

GPU= GTX 480 sli 2-way

Hard-drive= Samsung 250 SSD

Memory= 16g Corsair Vengeance

Motherboard= ASUS Z87-A

Power Supply= Thermaltake Smart M series 80plus Bronze 850w

Case= Corsair 200R

Monitors-
(1) Main Asus VG278h I game with 2d lightboost 1080p
(2) Asus VS248h-9 for watching my temps while gaming

OS= Windows 8 PRO 64-bit

I mostly play BattleField 3 and now the Beta for 4

I have the settings (ultra) maxed out 1920x1080p with around 75 FPS in the BF4 beta and it looks great, however these suckers get up in the 90's and make a lot of noise.
After reading multiple forums I'm considering the upgrade to either two GTX 760's 2 way sli or 1 GTX 780 3g?
No clue what brand is best or if I were to go with the 760's should I get 2g or 4g? I'd like to keep both monitors so can I run them both with one 780? I'm considering buying two more Asus VG278H's for 3 but not in the near future... I just don't know where to go at this point.. I'd like to keep my same monitor setup and clear the 100 fps at a nice cool temp... Any suggestions?

It`s always best to go with a single-GPU if possible, hence in your case the GTX 780 would work good, and EVGA is indeed a good brand.
Also, you might want to wait a bit if you are already able to play BF4 and it`s not very urgent, as within this month the R9 290x should be out, and it would maybe be a bit better than the 780, and even cheaper.
Think about it a bit :p

Hi!

Okay, VRAM. You wont need more than 2gb for a standard 1080p resolution. If you were multi-monitoring then yes, but not for just one. =)

As far as what to get, 2 x 760 or 1 x 780, take a look here:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

Bearing in mind SLI increases perforrmance by around 80%, 2 x 760's would probably perform about the same as a single 780, and cost about the same too. So I would just get a 780, as you will get the same performance, but with a lower power usage, lower temps, no SLI hassle, etc.

As far as brand goes, I always urge people tog o with EVGA. Preferably the Superclocked or FTW edition. Not only do EVGA work closely with Nvidia, they cherry pick the best PCB's for thier FTW/SC cards, and also thier coolers mostly expell hot air outside the rear of your case instead of into it and heating everything else up. =)

Good point about the R9 290x. As an Nvidia fan personally I would not even consider an ATI card, (Personal preference, I dont have anything against ATI, I jsut prefer Nvidia =P) but I would say that if the recent 'leaked' benchmarks are anything to go by then you may benfit by waiting. =)

Would I need more GPU memory if I had another monitor running the map or just web browsing ?

This is my first post, sorry if I broke any etiquette.

Hi! Welcome to Toms hardware Forums!

Providing you were only using the additional monitor (Note the singular) for web browsing or map watching, and not running any actual game features, then you would be fine with 2gb of VRAM. Although this is going by the assumtion you will be using 2 1080p mointors. If you are using 2 2k monitors, then 3gb would be adviseable. The same goes for if you plan on using three monitors @ 1080p. I'll make a simple lsit belwo for simplicity:

GAMING ON 1 MONITOR:

1 x 1080p = 2gb
2 x 1080p = 2gb
3 x 1080p = 3gb
1 x 2k = 2gb
2 x 2k = 3gb
3 x 3k = 3gb

GAMING ON 2 OR MORE MONITORS:

1 x 1080p = 2gb
2 x 1080p = 3gb
3 x 1080p = 4gb
1 x 2k = 3gb
2 x 2k = 4gb
3 x 3k = 4gb

So to answer your specific question, no, 2gb of VRAM would be fine on two monitors, providing you were only gaming on one. FYI, watching HD video will also increase VRAM usage, so be aware of this if you like wathcing HD vids on your second monitor. =)
