Freshly installed windows 7 32 with ASRock G41M-VS3 R2.0, after old mobo died, with onboard LAN Atheros AR8152. Upon installing the drivers dowloaded I get "installer can't find atheros AR81family ethernet controller on your system". Atheros is not detected in device maniger either(no network adaptors), so I can't use update driver, connection to cable does show geen light. Anything to do?

Solution
I don't think that the blinking green light is indicating what the problem is. I'd call that an "erratic" behaviour, for as long as the LAN doesn't show up in Device Manager. The LAN port may be damaged by pushing inside too hard the LAN cable. It happens sometime with the built-in LAN.
I'd suggest to buy a PCI Ethernet Card. Your mobo has a PCI slot.

Yeah I had to use the usb because I lost the disk(even tho for a slightly different model) to get the supposedly fesh and new mobo.
Whatever driver I find didn't work on either by. exe but at least I could update the device's driver with dev manager on the old one.
New one doesn't even register it there, that's the thought part now. May even be broken, just not sure

Even without a proper driver, the LAN adapter should show up in Device Manager. It might have a small yellow alert triangle on it. If it isn't shown at all, then it's a hardware-related problem. Google for any other cases for this specific problem to ASRock G41M-VS3 R2.0 mobos.

Yeah i think so too, noniboy. If it's a hardware problem, probably is, does the ethernet port glowing greed indicate anything to what is wrong /ok?
