Hi everyone! I'm an average gamer with a decent computer rig and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics a bit. I don't do a lot of intense gaming, but I am a programmer and make a lot of games and 3d graphics using blender 3d which can get pretty intense on the GPU. My current rig is:

Model: HP p7-1027c
CPU: i3-2100 @ 3.10 GHz
RAM: 6 GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I recently found a HIS IceQ X Turbo X Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI-Express card for $120. Is this a good price for this high-end card? (It is used though) And would something like this be worth it to upgrade my system? My Power Supply would have to be upgraded too, so I was just wondering if this would work with my rig, and if it would be worth the cash. Thanks!

I'd rather you got a new HD7850, you'll only be paying <>$20 more for a full warranty on a faster, more efficient card. With a nice free game ;).
As Raheel Hasan point out, the stock HP power supply will need to be upgraded for either card (unless you have already done so) expect to pay under $65 for a good unit with dual 6 pin PCI-E leads.
Nice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048 Modular, dual PCI-E, quality maker. You can go $10 maybe $15 cheaper for a 500Watt non modular unit of similar quality.

Thanks for the advice everyone, sounds like some good options. I also just found an EVGA GTX 580 for $200. It has some nice specs, what do you think? Is the extra cash worth it for the 580? Thanks for the feedback!

You can get a 7950 for that price.

I've done some research on Newegg and you can get them for $200 in the US, but for Canada the cheapest is going to be around $250 with shipping. Are there any other Canadian sites that offer better prices on the 7950?

The GTX580 is a little slower than the HD7950: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32779-7.html
And here: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_270X/17.html
And here: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_radeon_r9_280x_top_review,1.html
Seems like a lot of reading but just jump to the benchmarks and skip the main review text.
If you don't have, and plan on getting, the games available in the AMD bundle it may be better to pay the extra and go for a HD7950, just avoid the cards with single fan coolers-they're hot and noisy!

Thanks for the feedback. Looking at deals in Canada I've found:

XFX Radeon HD 7950 - $229.99
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=88961&vpn=FX795ATDKC&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1306
EVGA GTX 660 SC - $195.99
http://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-SUPERCLOCKED-Mini-HDMI-Graphics-02G-P4-2662-KR/dp/B00966IREK
ASUS GTX 650 Ti boost OC DirectCU - 149.99 (+ $10.00 shipping)
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=81930&vpn=GTX650TIB-DC2OC-2GD5&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1306

I was really hoping to keep it at $200 max and I don't care too much for the game bundles. But there is a $30 mail-in rebate for the 7950. Any thoughts on these deals?
