Your CPU will last you another 2-4 years IMO. It still keeps up with the latest i5's and they can handle anything. At least wait for 20nm Broadwell or 28nm Steamroller...

Why do you have like three different threads open asking different questions about the same build. Just ask all your questions on one post.

You should be fine for a while yet. At least another year or so. When you do upgrade, you'll have to upgrade your motherboard as well.

For the time being, you might want to look into upgrading your ram to at least 8 gigs dual channel.

i7 950 is a 1366 cpu, which is triple channel.

I did not know that. Thanks for informing. :)

Still... 6 gigs is not that much. Some games are already using that much and then some...

It means you need to buy your ram in a triple channel kit (which is a set of 3 matching sticks), or buy 3 ram sticks from the same brand and with the exact same specs. (Buying a triple channel kit is usually better because it's not always guaranteed that separate sticks will work together in this way). Your motherboard supports up to 24 gigs which means you can run three 8 gig sticks. That's a little overkill, to be honest. Running three 4 gig sticks (12 gigs total) should be plenty for the next couple years.

Aside from that, you should still be good to go for at least another year+. :)

Yea, I have 8gb, and have to use a pagefile or I get windows warnings of low memory when playing WoW with a bunch of tabs open in Chrome. I often watch stuff on Netflix or Hulu+ while playing WoW as well. I picked up 2x 24" Samsungs a few months ago on clearance from office max for like $79 each. :D  I have an uncanny ability to just fall into great deals on stuff.
