Hello all,

I recently just built a HTPC with a core i3-3220, now I have to decide what graphics card to get. Please consider I will be gaming on a 1080p tv, and want decent framerates in a few upcoming games such as Witcher 3, BF4, and a few others.

Should I get a GTX 760 to go with my i3-3220 or is there a different gpu to get to make my machine more balanced?

Little strong for the I3 but nothing wrong with it, maybe later you will upgrade to I5 and it will be better for CPU intensive games.

+1 for an i5 over an i3

Even an FX 6300 will drive most newer/current games better than an i3. 2 Cores is quickly becoming too little.

If you have no choice but to go with an i3 right now, make sure the board you are using is a good upgrade path for an i5 in the future.

that's a good video card... but it wont pump out 60fps at 1080p on BF4.

plus your CPU will be a limiting factor as well.

If you want 60fps, you need to step up to a 770 and i5.

theres BF4 FPS benchmarks out, i suggest you read up :0

And I suggest you do the same. :p

At 1080p, high preset, a SIX sixty is able to push 51fps minimum.

A 670, which is essentially the equivalent of a 760, is getting 42fps minimum
on the ultra preset at 1080p.

A 760 will do just fine for the OP's needs.

Wow, thanks guys, I'll get the 760 and look to upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the next few months then, you've all been very helpful but I'll choose the most relevant post as my answer.

Don't bother upgrading to an i7 - the only difference is hyperthreading and a small amount of l3 cashe, neither of which are helpful for games.
