I'll try to describe my problem shortly as I can. But it hard to describe quickly.

So - 3 month ago Ive bought OCZ Vector 128 GB for my system - C2Q Q9300' P5Q (SATA II only), CoolerMaster Silent Pro M2 620 W. First week was hard to start working ( some problems with recognizing SSD by mobos chipset, Numerous fails of OS. but everything quited down. Till now.

Tried to download BF4 beta from Origin, which I've also installed an hour ago, the hell upcame on my PC. Blue screen, 0xc000000e error. I had different issues after rebooting PC:

1. POST BIOS freezes on the point autodetecting sata port. Nothing happens, reboot only.

2. POST BIOS pasts OK, but OS doesn't loading, only black screen.

After those 2 an error occures, saying "Boot menu failure"
Time to time POPUP menu loosing SSD, and after showing it in the list again

So, what I'm asking for, guys - I know that I have to reinstall OS and etc. Just only thing: somebody, please, could you tell me what the hell is happening with this SSD? Does it OCZ failure, or Im doing something wrong? I've just tired of every 2 month reinstalling, hate restoring files. Is there some way to avoid such problem (Exp. Buying another SSD, I will buy Samsung for 2nd, but not in nearest future)

P.S. Forgot to tell the measures that I've applied:

1. Removed battery from my motherboard ( no result)
2. Changed SATa ports connections ( helps only 1st time, after that mobo stops recognizing ssd)
3. BIOS settings are fine - AHCI, boot device to Vector etc.

Dam Asus made awfull BIOS update for my old P5Q - I'm having now 1.004, while the newest is 1.008. However, it is said that 04 and 08 BIOS are similar mostly.

P.S. That shit OCZ makes me really angry, in pair with this P5Q, because both of them refusing work properly.

Well, seems that solution is provided by me. Surprise.

This SSD is dead like hundreds of other Vectors - I've cheked it on the other, AMD platform - it even didn't rtecognized it.

Anyway, every who would have same problem with OCZ SSD, and your motherboard looks like to be recognizing SSD, but it doesn't works, BIOS frezes, etc. - know that your SSD is dead. What exactly and why it still capable to name itself in POPUP menu - don't know, but it is DEAD. Just sent it to the service.

Thanks for all who anticipated in solving this problem.

I am on my 3rd replacement OCZ vector also. The new one I bought died, just quit working after 3 months, 5 year warranty.
OCZ sent me a refurbished unit as a replacement for my new one, the refurbish unit only had a 1 year warranty.
It died after 3 months. I am currently sending it back under warranty.
Look like they just decided to lose my other 4 years warranty on the original new one.
I have been working with computers since 1984 and I think the OCZ Vector is a bad product scam, from a bad company.

Thank's! I faced the same problem on my old Abit IP35. One day SSD passed away.... BIOS can detect it ONLY after Power Button pressing and fresh start. Then , after next pushing RESET button BIOS can't see it. Ofcourse I can forget about launching Win 7 x64bit on my SSD. 2 Days of reinstalling Win 7 & env. on my old good HDD. I'm very angry on OCZ.
BTW: which 128GB/256GB SSD is available Today on market ad is fast and RELIABLE ?

I feel your anger friend. I have had the same problem with the ocz vector. I thought the blue sceen was either due to my psu, motherboard and even my gtx 780 due to game crashes. I didnt think my new ocz drive would fail so quickly. I was also stupid enough to get a replacement and decided another Vector would be ok as I cant be unluckey again...!!! I flippin well was sort of. My secong vector is dead but now i know its not unluckiness. Its just a problematic piece of dog dirt. Im staying well clear of OCZ hence forth. My7 first ssd was a ocz vertex a good while back and it lasted over 6 months. It departed this earth after I cloned it on to another larger ssd as it was only 60 gb. The clone drive worked fine. It was only when i decided to put the other drive in a build for one of the kids that i realized it was dead.

Ach! My OCZ Vector (15 mths old) died this morning.
Came after faffing around moving it several times between three laptops, one of which was crashing frequently. (They don't like losing power apparently.)
I think OCZ have a BIG problem.
PS. Was quoted $700 for data recovery by OCZ's partner company !!
