Hello there people!

i know it is a long topic, but i would be VERY VERY GRATEFUL if you guys read it and try to help me...

i think my computer isnt working in total performance for its configuration, and ive tried changing A LOT of configuration. I've asked for help to the Manufacturer, to NVIDIA and Intel too...

I have some knowledge about hardware, and my Computer ( Notebook) is about Half year old.
I know it is variable from games to games, i know that, but i've seen so many videos which the computer is almost the same that mine (some a little worse), running the same games im trying to, and in High/Ultra graphics, while mine i need to run in Low and with a smaller resolution .
And Its not for one game only, but for all the ones i try to play. Its been a while im having this problem. My Graphics Cards Drivers are Fully upgraded.

I dont want to save some battery to my notebook, i want it running at full throtle in games. I always use it plugged in energy, anyways (no exeption). I want to Focus the card to run directly on the game.

I have tried so many things, such in NVIDIA Control panel, i changed all the options to "High Performance, my Graphics Cards are totally updated, i tried to "release" all the cores of my processor, tried to run the game using the GPU, etc... But i feel there is something "bottlenecking" or "blocking" my system, so it cant use its resources completely.

I have looked on this GPU Benchmarks for a list of games... and its like my computer runs games like the old one.

Well, this benchmark is in portuguese, but you guys can look for another one: http://www.notebookcheck.info/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-675MX.90351.0.html

Just scroll Down and you'll understand de FPS

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My computer specs are these:

Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge - 3740QM 2.7 GHz, 6MB Cache ( 3.7 GHZ w/ Max Turbo)

8 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 (1600 MHZ) / ( 2x 4 GB)

750GB - 7200RPM + 8GB SSD - Seagate Momentus XT ST750LX003

mSATA 128GB Crucial m4 6Gb/s SSD

Nvidia GeForce GTX 675MX GPU w/ 4GB GDDR5 Video Dedicated

17.3" 16:9 (1920x1080) Full HD LED-Backlit Display com Matte Finished Surface (Fosca)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bits
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And these are the performances im getting in some games ( there are more):

Battlefield 3, totally on Low (i have even changed it to Custom to change the gaphics a little lower and the option "Low"), Resolution 1366x768 - 15-20FPS

Outlast Minimum graphics too, 1366x768 - 20FPS

Metro 2033, Lowest possible quality, Resolution 1366x768 - 20FPS ,and arround 10FPS in scenarios with more particles and that require more from GPU ( Ex: Smoke)

Company of Heroes 2,Totally in Minimum Graphics, Resolution 1200x600 (I can see even the pixels), 15-25FPS (the avarage is arround 20FPS)

Tera, Low - 20FPS

Hitman Absolution, Low - 20FPS

Alan Wake, 1366x768, low-medium, 15-25FPS

Guild Wars 2, Low - 25-30FPS, Medium - 15-20FPS

Far Cry 3 , Low 1366x768 - 15-20FPS

So i think im getting arround 20% or 30% from what my computer should be capable of.

I can even send lots of videos of Benchmark Testing with similar specs, running 2013 games on high/ultra. and i cant even run 2011 games on Low ( i have to change my resolution).

Help... Please?

ok. sounds like a driver corruption or you're overheating and throttling. one or the other.

Uninstall everything you suspect has to do with nvidia. re-start the computer, reinstall the latest WHQL drivers, please do not install nvidia experience with the install (select custom install); let us know how that goes.

no... just the nvidia drivers.

as for temps... i never trust the thermometers on this tech eq... way too many are poorly calibrated or just don't work right. but don't worry about temps just yet. lets make sure the drivers aren't the issue.

as another poster accurately pointed out it's almost like your system is running on the igpu of the intel processor, not the nvidia. so lets make sure those drivers are installed... then we'll move onto other possible solutions.

Ingtar, sorry but i tried to reinstall NVIDIA drivers with "Clean installation", and it didnt work...

Hafijur, ive checked on GPUz what you tolf me... This is what i got:

While gaming:
GPU Load: 99%
GPU Temp: 85-89 Celcius
Intel HD 4000 Load: 5% - 7%
Intel HD 4000 Temp: 86-88 degrees

While Not gaming:
GPU Load: 0%
GPU temp: 67 degrees
Intel HD 4000 Load: its minor than 10%
Intel HD 4000 temp: is alright

So i think it isnt the problem. The computer is choosing properly between both cards.

But about the power... i dont know how to check it and to change the power supply. Can you help me please??

Is it throttling? Since it keeps the temp less than 90 degrees, i thought it was alright... Actually it keeps 67 Celsius and then after i start playing it jumps to 85-89. My GPU cooler turns on when it reaches about 88-89 degrees... is it really a fault?

yeah... 90C is where it throttles on that card... what's happening is it's reaching 90c, so the card is being undervolted, dropping the temps a few degrees under 90C... that's why you're getting 100% gpu utilization, and your fps are so bad. the card is overheating and it's automatically throttling back cutting it's power drastically to keep from cooking. it's possible the gpu fan isn't working, or the heatsink is not on properly... whatever is the problem it should be covered by the warranty.

and it is located in another state... far away, i'll have to send my notebook via Mail, its complicated... But alright... i'll let them know the problem

And is there a way to turn on my GPU cooler "forever" (no matter the temp)? I mean, i won't use it like that, but i'd like just to keep its temp low and test its performance, to check the problem. It would take just some mins. If it's really the problem, i can be sure if i really should give it back to the warranty

I think the problem isnt psu. Mine is 19v, 11A.

I really think the problem is the GPU overheating, but idk how to refrigerate it properly... since its a notebook. and it is half year old, so i dont think i'll have to clean the coolers
