Hi All,
My issue started when I got a BSOD from a file called the vuhub with an error message:
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
I Googled around and found that it is often associated with ASUS routers. That's what I have so I looked into downloading the most recent drivers.
The problem is that it is a zipped file with a .trx extension and doesn't open automatically without downloading an unzipping program. I went to two of them on the recommended site but owing to some hard-earned caution, I saved them in a file and then ran Malwarebytes on each instead of just choosing run. Both had suspicious PUP objects so I deleted them and am back to square 1.
My question is; when you need to open what seems like a legitimate driver from a hardware manufacturer, how do you know where to find a legitimate program to open it?
Thanks for looking. Your thoughts are appreciated, sh
