Hello everyone. I visit Tom's all the time and I finally have a question of my own that I hope all of you experts may be able to help me with.
Recently, the Ps/2 port for my keyboard on my motherboard stopped working. I have an Asus P5N-D motherboard. My keyboard is the SteelSeries 7g keyboard. My problem is that when I plug the male Ps/2 plug into the female Ps/2 to Usb adapter then plug the male Usb plug into my usb port I get a "device not recognised" error message and the keyboard will not work.
All of the lights ( Caps/Scroll/Number lock) light up when plugged in. All other usb enabled devices work on this motherboard as well.
Is there something in the bios that I need to disable/enable to get this to work?
I also tried using it on another computer with a more modern motherboard (Asus P8Z68-V) and I get the same error message.
I am at a complete loss and after scouring the internet I cannot find an answer. All solutions and ideas on how to work around this message are appreciated.
