Hi,am having a problem with my asus hd7970 matrix platinum.All the games am playing getting some artifacts in the screen.
The values of the card is on the stock one and am using a PSU 750W.Need help.

Solution

Pull down the core clock 20Mhz or 10 a time along with 5Mv down on the core clock. Your card is not broke...

no, it may be coding problems in that game or something. But if you lower the voltage further, then you may undervolt your card. Dont starve your core clock frequency of power, just try to allow better airflow for your card by removing dust and ramping up the fans.

Ok I receive this message from asus support after I contact them

{Regarding the described problem, we invite you to control the temperature of the vga ( try to download the software "speed fan" ). Probably the artifacts are caused from the high temperature of the vga.
If the temperature is over 80° C, you must contact your dealer to send the vga at the Asus repair center or repalce the card.}

During the benchmarks the temp was 80o C and above do you think I may remove the aircolling system on the vga and change the thermal pasta?I cant sent my card cause am not living now in UK and I dont trust sent it through airmail.

Pull down the core clock 20Mhz or 10 a time along with 5Mv down on the core clock. Your card is not broke, airflow may be the problem... Dont buy a OCed card if your case cant supply sufficient airflow. IDK why the ASUS guy reccomneded SpeedFan, ASUS GPU tweak ver 2.2.1.4 is way better.

Ok I change the thermal pasta of the gpu, now the temp is lower in games and idle.Also i set on manual the fans always to be at 40% and when reach 60 degrees to work on 70-100%.The asus thermal pasta was in bad condition(harden on the gpu processor).Also I clean the fans of my case and left the one site open.So far no artifacts.Is there any watercooling system for hd7970 matrix platinum?

Which thermal paste did you use and you can buy water blocks for your Matrix 7970 as the matrix cards are designed for it(low asic quality). WHat did the thermal paste look like?

No I never install one before but I understand how its works and I will be able to install it.If only the water block is around 100 euro then quess the loop,pump,radiator and valves water will be +150 euro if am correct.With that money why dont I buy a second one hd7970 and sli them?Both together will work in less proccess.

AMD cards have a thing called CrossFireX(CFX). CFX is just like SLi but for AMD cards, so you'd have to buy a crossfire cable. If you buy a second one, your heat will increase majorly since your setup can barely cool single card config. Whats you case? And does your mobo support SLI? If so, then will it have room for two 3 slot coolers on each PCI connector?

My case is Cooler Master Mystique 632.Is kind a small for this card,also i brake the one site of the hdd adapters to be able to fit the gpu in the case.My motherboard support 3 amd cards for crossfire,but my case is not the appropriated.Ok I was trying today and added 4 extra fans for income air.I tested it on the game Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist and before I attach the 4 fans the temp was at 80 degree now is at 60! :) As you said above the problem was the airflow and now is being solved.Thanks for your help!

Good! Very good! Clean out dust every 1 to two months to keep your temps low.
