Hi guys,

Was hoping if you could help, I am currently staying in a dorm and my room only has an Ethernet lan cable provided. I would like to create a wifi with my wireless router that I have bought, I have tried many ways and still no internet access. I am able to get the wifi but no internet access.
Also the school lan has an authentication of username and password to key in before entering the internet.

Do help me out!

Thanks!

Ask one of the IT administrators if they allow routers or wireless APs -- my guess is that the answer is no. You *may* still be able to create a wireless hotspot by connecting a computer (that also has wireless) to the Ethernet and use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) or Connectify. Often it is not possible.
