Can anyone guide me thru the installation of an extra internal hard drive, and an external hard drive.I have never messed with the inners on my pc, hence the request for guidance.
Connecting an external hard drive is going to depend on what interface it uses. Many use a USB interface, while others use an external SATA (e-sata) interface. Either way, it's just a matter of plugging in power from a wall socket and connecting it to your PC via USB/E-SATA.
1. Mount the drive.
2. attach the power and data cables
3. Use windows disk management to initialize the drive.
If the drive is larger than 2TB use a GPT partition when initializing.
