i can't open my seagate hardrive on 900 g anymore

my seagate harddrive works but and is shown but when i try to open it i get this *you must format the disk (F: ) for it to be used*
how do i fix that because i got files i dont want other to see. and i can't get back eather

You should always have your data backed up to another drive to prevent possible data loss - - one drive is not enough because it could fail at any time.

I recommend you test the drive with Seagate SeaTools for Windows: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/
