Hi all
Just received my new asus MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 today, and I've got a slight problem. I'm using an EZcool ATX-700 JSP PSU, which only has 2 x 6-pin PCI-e power plugs. GPU has 2x 8-pin sockets. The card does come with a 2x 6-pin to 1x 8-pin adapter, but a woefully brief and generic installation guide (plug card into slot, plug power cable in that's all).
So my questions -
1) can i get a 2 x molex to an 8-pin adapter?
2) will my psu even run the card? The box says a 650w is needed, mine is 700w. But after reading various forums trying to find a fix for this issue, im beginning to suspect that im gonna need to invest in a better PSU, which is an expense id rather have avoided after dropping £225 on the hd7970.....
