Hi was wondering if this laptop would run light-medium gaming. I'm mostly a Sims 3 and Total War gamer and really don't need the highest settings.

Hi,

2 most important:

Processor Intel Core i7-4700MQ
Video Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M

While the cpu is good the gpu is not that good for gaming.
Sims 3 and total war are old games so should run fine @ medium / high settings
But most modern FPS would lag on higher than medium and then it's case per case.

if this is it I believe you will be good there. As long as you're not expecting miracles from it. But still a decent looking laptop.

Heres its Gpu http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-g...

going off of the GPU it seems adequate as well. up to date with all current standard.

Thanks so much for the fast reply. I was pretty sure it would be a decent laptop but having a second opinion is always nice.

Cheers!

Good to know! If ever I wanted to branch out into something more hardcore, I'll definitely think about upgrading the GPU first.

well you cant upgrade a laptop gpu so you would need to branch into the Desktop zone of things. you could only upgrade the ram and hard drive in this laptop.

Ah! Okay. Oh well this one is good for now since I don't do high graphics gaming right now and if I ever do, I think it would be time to invest in a good gaming PC. Thanks guys!
