Windows 8 on my HP works slower than my 12 year old stylistic tablet with XP pro.
I don't want a bunch of reasons why I should like windows 8. I want to know if I can load windows 7 or XP on my HP 2000 laptop?

Solution
Yeah, that a netbook, it would still be slow in windows 7. And they don't offer any XP or Win 7 drivers, so don't try that. Return it if you still can.

AMD Processor Laptop with E-300 Accelerated Processor 1.30GHz, 1MB L2 Cache
2GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 8GB)
Gives you the options for surfing, video conferencing, documents, basic photo editing and simple computer tasks

Thanks, I was afraid that would be the answer. I can not return it because too much time has gone by since I bought it although it is still under warranty. What do you think about changing to Linux?

Thank you friend! It is useless as it is. I live in an area of the USA with almost no internet access All this Windows 8 OS wants to do is try and open apps even though I have tried to disable them. In it's attempts to make contact with apps and clouds it freezes. I even have trouble answering posts with out going back and filling in the missed letters as I type.....HP blames Microsoft and Microsoft blames HP.....
