Random Read (IOPS) too low for Samsung Evo 840 [HP DV6 Laptop]

Hi,

I have this SSD and am very happy with it. I actually got 2 one for my PC and one for my Laptop.

The only gripe I have is that on my laptop (only) the Random Read IOs is too low - the rest is fine.
I have the SSD optimized for performance and have the latest intel rapid storage software.

The same SSD on my Desktop scores 100000+

Is there a reason (and hopefully fix) for that?

could be that your desktop has more ram so that the ssd cache softwre can make a larger cache drive. the other issues is the chipset on both and that with most laptops some of the ram is used for the video card. on your laptop you can update the mb chipset drivers see if anything changes.

Desktop: z87/i5/16 gigs & Laptop: HM65/8 gigs (both have lots of free ram)
Laptop has onboard intel vga and 6770m radeon card but is currently running on discrete one


Not really, MS security essentials on both devices.
