system reserve volumes

Hi,
I have desktop with 2 hard drives, each running win 7 and booting independently. Under computer icon, I have FOUR drive letters and Four bars. Apparently, each drive shows system reserve volume as a separate drive under separate letter. Why is that???
When I want to image the drive for a backup, do I need to include those 100Mb partitions in the image as well???

So, why does it show up separately? Both drives boot and function OK. What did I do wrong? Both were clean installed from Win 7 CD, one at a time, so that MBP stays on the same drive. The other drive was physically disconnected from the computer while installing win 7.

Any ideas?
