File size after installation

Apologies in advance.. am a newbie here..

I have a desktop with vista.. the windows folder is 17gb and I remember xp was much less.. I just wanted to know the sizes of windows xp,vista and 7.. cant remember

It depends on what else you have installed. But you're right - each new version is bigger and fatter (all these new features, help files, screenshots etc take up space). Fresh install of Windows 7 home is about 15gb. Once you start adding service packs, updates, applications - you're close to 25gb.

I understand, I know.. so what about the other 2? Fresh 7 is 15gb.. what about vista and xp?
