Hey folks!

I'm planning on upgrading my GPU sometime Nov - Dec, but unsure which GPU is best for me. My budget is $250-300. I was quite convinced on purchasing the GTX 760 (after seeing benchmarks), but with the release of the R9 series I'm no longer sure with myself. I read on another forum that the R9 280X ($300) is equivalent to the GTX 770 ($400). :??:

I will be playing games such as Shogun/Rome 2 TW and other RTS alike - hoping to achieve playing with Medium+ settings with massive armies in battle.

I don't have plans to SLI, but might OC.

Additional Info:
Intel Core i5-3750k 3.4ghz
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3-1600
650 Watt
19" 1440 x 900

the 280x or 7970ghz (both the same card, different label) are comparable to a gtx770 with the 770 being slightly faster in reviews/benchmarks overall.
