I am writing to ask is Ivy Bridge still worth it or should i go wilth haswell considering its the latest. My main concern about haswell is that i have heard the overclocking wasnt so good and with the cooler i chose (hyper 212 EVO) I am hoping to achieve 4.5GHz on a 4670k but from what i have saw it is easily achievable on the 3570k but not on the 4670k, so my question is should i go with haswell or ivy bridge?

Any reply's would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,

I have owned both so I am the man to ask. My opinion:

-Go IB if you want an i5 because it is a lot cheaper and the midrange motherboards are of similar quality.

-Go Haswell if you want an i7 because the nice Z87 motherboards are WAYYY nicer, and Haswell is in...

Thanks for the reply i will be going with ivy bridge!

I'd go Haswell. It is at least 5% faster, that's equivalent to 200MHz at 4GHz. So a Ivy Bridge at 4.5GHz is slower than a Haswell at 4.275GHz. Also the Haswell has better motherboards, more SATA ports etc. And the motherboard has a year or two more life than the 1155. As time goes by, more and more software will make use of the advanced architecture of the Haswell and you will see more performance.
