What would happen if I were to RMA my Intel i7 2600k now?

Hi, I currently have the Intel i7 2600k and I was wondering that since it is discontinued, will I get a better model replacement if I were to RMA it to Intel? I do know that there are some companies that do give their customers a better/updated model since they don't have the outdated model in stock, but will Intel do that?

Most likely, Intel would send you another i7-2600K. They generally have a stock of replacement items available. Of course, you could be lucky and get something else, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Doubtful, but you could always ask. The worst that could happen is that they say "no".
