More and more apps coming out are getting multithreaded but the I3 has hyper threaded and can handle 4 threads at a time just not as effectively as a quad. To find out if the apps are the best thing is to read about them.

I'd rather have the i3+HD6670; stronger graphics, stronger CPU. And, both can be upgraded. With the APU, there really isn't much of a CPU upgrade path, and if you're going to upgrade the graphics card, you've rather defeated the purpose of an APU. Make sure you get a HD6670 with GDDR5, not one of the crippled DDR3 versions.

really? even when the a8-5600k is a quad while i3 is dual core ?

how do i know if the program I am running is single-threaded or multi-threaded?! Sorry newbie here :D
