Is there much of a downgrade from Swiftech H220 to Corsair H100i?

Hello,

So after a few months of loving my Swiftech H220, it decided to kick the bucket and give me the ol' 'CPU fan error' message on startup, no matter how i tried it wouldn't work and almost fried my CPU after giving me a good false sense of security when it stopped telling me it was broken, and decided to let me find out for myself when i checked my temps after half an hour and my CPU was at 80 degrees. Well, its dead now and I'm running off the stock Intel cooler that came with the processor just to keep it working, but seeing as Swiftech got sued by Antec and they cant sell the H220 in the US anymore, my next option would be to switch to an H100i, so what i want to know is how much performance would i be losing by switching to a H100i because i know they don't perform AS as the H220 well but whether or not its very noticeable doesn't have a very clear answer. Really i just want to make sure i shouldnt be scared of moving to an h100i from the H220.

Tl;dr: H220 broke, wondering if i would notice performance drops with an H100i

Thanks!

I would'nt say that...

I have an i7 3930k @ 4.7 (1.38v)

Both tests on the h100 and the swiftech H220 were done with Akasa Viper 120mm Fans.
I recommend the pump at 40% speed as this reduces the noise and has NO impact on the temps.(Anything above is for an optional RAD+GFX Loop)

On the Corsair h100 i had idle 28oc and Load 78oc (Prime 95) Blue screen after 4/5 mins
Gaming 100% Stable playing QuakeLive 62oc, Stalker 65oc, BF3 68oc.

On the Swiftech H220 idle is 25oc and Load is 65oc (Prim 95) Stable 20+ minutes( i dont believe stressing a CPU for 12 hours is the way to go about things, real life usage is what its all about).
Gaming 100% Stable, playing quake 48oc, stalker 52oc, bf3 52oc

I have an Antec 1200 v3 which i modded by...

The main advantage of the H220 is how expandable it is and the support for water cooling on Graphics cards, and other components besides the CPU. If you just cool the CPU then the performance will be slight, the H100 doesn't perform quite as well as the H220 but at the same time you're only looking at a very small difference.

I have an Antec 1200 v3 which i modded by cutting the water cooler pipe section(where the rubber grommets are) to fit the pump through. i also cut the honeycomb fan sections out as they were raised. I mounted the RAD and 4x Akasa Viper 120mm fans(2 inside the case and 2 outside). - If anyone wants any pics let me know, i took pictures as i progressed.

I am very happy with this cooler, i will be adding a R9 290X and an extra 120mm rad to the loop, when i do, i will try and come back with an update on how it performs.

I have given this Rad 1 star short because of the following reason.
When i looked into the swiftech H220, i looked at the dimensions. The dimensions they give actually make the H220 smaller than the H100 on paper. I thought "Great, ti will fit in the Antec 1200, where the H100 is at the moment".... However, this is not the case. the pipes on the swiftech h200 bulge a lot more than the h100 making it about 30mm longer, so be aware people.

Hope this was helpful.

I would love pics, because I also run my box inside an Antec 1200 and am looking at a pre-assembled water cooler...
